Who we are
Afrikunite (“we”) operates afrikunite.com — a platform connecting African communities worldwide with businesses, professionals, churches, events, opportunities, and resources. Contact: privacy@afrikunite.com.
Data we collect
Account data (email, name, optional profile details); listing content you publish (business/professional/church/event information you choose to provide); inquiries and reviews you submit; and privacy-safe usage analytics (anonymized session hashes, page/listing events) — we do not store raw IP addresses for analytics. Payment details are collected and stored by Stripe, never by us.
How we use it
To provide the service (listings, search, AI assistant, recommendations, verification), to operate subscriptions, to improve discovery and growth features, to detect fraud and abuse, and to communicate service messages.
Processors / subprocessors
Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (hosting), OpenAI (AI features — only public listing content is sent; no third-party personal data is provided to the model), Stripe (payments), and Google (Search Console / optional Analytics). Each processes data on our behalf under their terms.
Security
Access is enforced by row-level security so users can only see their own private data; admin areas are restricted and audited; verification documents are private to the owner and reviewers; secrets are server-only. See our Security posture in the Acceptable Use and DPA documents.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Email privacy@afrikunite.com to exercise these rights. We honor applicable GDPR/CCPA rights.
Retention
We keep account and listing data while your account is active. Raw analytics events are pruned on a rolling 90-day basis; aggregate (anonymized) metrics may be retained longer. See the Data Retention Policy.
