Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-06-18 · What we collect, why, who processes it, and your rights.
Who operates the platform
Afrikunite Global LLC, a California Limited Liability Company (“Afrikunite,” “we,” “us”) operates the Afrikunite platform at afrikunite.com — an online community platform connecting African communities worldwide with businesses, professionals, services, opportunities, relocation resources, education, culture, and community. For privacy requests, contact privacy@afrikunite.com; for general support, support@afrikunite.com.
Information we collect
User information may be collected to provide platform services: account data (email, name, optional profile details); content you publish (listings, profiles, inquiries, reviews, relocation plans); and privacy-safe usage analytics (anonymized session hashes and page/listing events) — we do not store raw IP addresses for analytics. Payment details, if you subscribe, are collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe), never by us. We do not collect passport, visa, government-ID, bank-account, medical, or immigration-document numbers.
How we use information
To provide and operate the platform (listings, search, AI assistance, recommendations, relocation tools, verification), to operate subscriptions, to improve and secure the service, to detect fraud and abuse, and to send service communications.
Cookies, analytics & third-party service providers
The platform may use cookies, privacy-safe analytics, and third-party service providers (sub-processors) to operate. These include Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (hosting), OpenAI (AI features — only non-sensitive content is sent), Stripe (payments), and Google (Search Console / optional Analytics). Each processes data on our behalf under their terms. See our Cookie Policy.
Security
Data is protected using industry-standard security practices: access is enforced by row-level security so users can only access their own private data; administrative areas are restricted and audited; verification documents are private to their owner and reviewers; and secrets are kept server-side. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices & account deletion
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Users may request deletion of their accounts and personal data at any time by emailing privacy@afrikunite.com, subject to legal retention obligations. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
California & other privacy rights
California residents may exercise applicable privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, access, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell personal information). Residents of other regions (e.g., the EU/UK under GDPR, Canada under PIPEDA, Nigeria under the NDPR) may exercise applicable rights. Submit requests to privacy@afrikunite.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Data retention
We keep account and listing data while your account is active. Raw analytics events are pruned on a rolling 90-day basis; aggregate (anonymized) metrics may be retained longer. See the Data Retention Policy.
